In terms of recipes for these festive days…

There are only a few days left of the festive season… If you still have some cooking to do, why don’t you use our traditional cooking wine made with various aromatic herbs well suited to Mediterranean recipes.
Our family matriarch, Antonia Marrugat found that she lacked a special wine to add to her sauces to give them more flavour and so she started to make her own. This was the origins of our Gran Chef, a cooking wine which we have been making for over fifty years.
Lentil dishes, pasta, oven baked fish, prawns, roast lamb or rabbit or duck stew…as well as being suitable for any kind of base for any dish. For more information, please send us an email: info@cocinarconvinogranchef.com.

Gran Chef celebrates its Fiftieth Birthday

2011 has also seen the celebration of 50 years of making Gran Chef, our special cooking wine. It is a vintage wine, which has been prepared with eleven carefully selected herbs, which have all been blended and macerated for some time.

The initial idea to create a wine specifically for cooking came from the matriarch of the Tetas Marrugat family, Antonia Marrugat. She found that she needed a wine for cooking which had been made specifically for that purpose, to add flavour to her sauces. Since its release, it has been a consumer favourite and was a pioneer wine of its age. You can purchase Gran Chef in large supermarkets and specialist shops. It is sold with its own recipe leaflet.

We thoroughly recommend it for all kinds of stews, roast meats, oven-baked fish, sauces, marinades…. If you already use it, or if you are trying it for the first time, please send us your recipes and we will publish them on Facebook and Twitter!

Congratulations Gran Chef!!
