Feria del Gall in Vilafranca

Don’t miss this weekend’s food and wine open air market, known as the “Feria del Gall” which will be held in Vilafranca!  This traditional market  is made up of market stalls offering traditionally prepared dishes based on wildfowl as well as a super-wine shop of DO Penedès wines and local delicatessen from the Penedès.

It will take place all day Saturday and Sunday morning from 9am to 2pm! We will be offering our Diorama Collection monovarietal Syrah on our stall. We are sure you will love it!

Winery Tours and Wine-Tastings at Mas Blanc

Our recently held open days have been a success!

We had several visitors over the bank holiday weekend and the two public holidays on 6th and 8th December. Maybe it was due to a great tour, thanks to our very special barrel-aging room which is based in….no, no, we will not tell you, you must see for yourselves! You will also learn a lot about our organic and biodynamic farming methods.

During the open day, those who wished were able to taste our Priorat reds – they are truly unique and bursting with personality!

 

Food and Wine Pairing dinner in Torredembarra

Last Thursday, Pinord, together with Torrebacus Restaurant in Torredembarra organised a wine and Food pairing dinner with the Neighbours’ Association and the Womens’ Association of La Móra-Tamarit. During the meal, guests tasted six mono-varietal wines from the Diorama Collection as well as +Natura organic cava (sparkling wine) with dessert. Mireia Tetas, third generation family member and Adolf Allegue, sales representative for Pinord, explained the characteristics of each wine and how to taste them.

Pinord and Bridal Wear Designer, Jordi Dalmau and Anubis

Last Friday, 23rd September, Pinord sponsored the launching of a new Anubis beauty product at Hotel Mas Passamaner in La Selva del Camp, Tarragona. The event paid homage to future brides and the product’s representative for the evening was the bridal wear designer, Jordi Dalmau who offered guests a fashion show of his “Enigma” collection.

Pinord participated by providing the wines and cavas (sparkling wines) for the post-fashion show event. Spectacular!

 

Gran Chef celebrates its Fiftieth Birthday

2011 has also seen the celebration of 50 years of making Gran Chef, our special cooking wine. It is a vintage wine, which has been prepared with eleven carefully selected herbs, which have all been blended and macerated for some time.

The initial idea to create a wine specifically for cooking came from the matriarch of the Tetas Marrugat family, Antonia Marrugat. She found that she needed a wine for cooking which had been made specifically for that purpose, to add flavour to her sauces. Since its release, it has been a consumer favourite and was a pioneer wine of its age. You can purchase Gran Chef in large supermarkets and specialist shops. It is sold with its own recipe leaflet.

We thoroughly recommend it for all kinds of stews, roast meats, oven-baked fish, sauces, marinades…. If you already use it, or if you are trying it for the first time, please send us your recipes and we will publish them on Facebook and Twitter!
