Vaquos in the Ribera del Duero
At the beginning of the year, Pinord released its new range of wines, Vaquos, made in the Ribera del Duero wine appellation.
Do you know why we chose the name, Vaquos?
Well, around the 6th century BC, the Vaquos were the first permanent settlers of the Northern Castillian Plain (Meseta Norte de Castilla). They were socially and culturally very advanced and knew a lot about viticulture and winemaking. Wine was one of their most important products and was drunk during feasts, social gatherings and even during funeral rites.
Pinord would like to pay homage to the Vaquos, a pioneering tribe who chose to settle on the very same fertile and magical soil which, twenty centuries later, continues to produce exceptional wines!
